Why Xochimilco water is no longer suitable for axolotls

The water from the Xochimilco canals comes from 3 treatment plants in Mexico City, as well as from rain. But the poor quality of the water comes from the wastewater from the drains of the houses, the pollution of the Xochimilco canals comes from soapy water with which clothes are washed, as well as waste from holes - not septic tanks - and from where sewage leaks, as well as drainage, mainly from irregular settlements.
